The problem

What sets aproduct apart isdecided very early.

In most ranges, design comes in at the end of the process: the manufacturing route is settled, the target price is fixed, the tooling is committed. All that remains is to dress a product whose structural choices have already been made.

My approach reverses that order. The concept is defined upstream, grounded in market and usage analysis, then rendered photorealistically so it can be judged before any tooling investment. Manufacturing constraints are not absorbed at the end: they are built into the drawing from the start.

An attractive shape that answers no need sells once; a purely technical answer is never noticed on shelf. My work is to hold both: start from an identified need, then give it a form that stands out and can be manufactured.

Design compatible with real constraints.

Process, unit cost, assembly, packing and e-commerce are built in from the first sketch. Knock-down design when logistics call for it. Design does not collide with the factory: it anticipates it.

Between buyer expectations, factory constraints and engineering language, someone has to translate. That is a large part of the job.

FAQ

The questions I get most.

When should a designer be brought in?
As early as possible. Design that arrives after the process or tooling has been chosen is reduced to decoration. Working upstream costs less and leaves far more room to manoeuvre.
Do you work with overseas factories?
Yes. Manufacturing and shipping constraints are built into the design from the start, and follow-up runs through to sample approval, wherever the factory is.
Can we see the product before paying for a prototype?
That is exactly what photorealistic renders and animation are for. The product can be shown in a range committee or in front of a buyer before any tooling commitment.
Do you work on existing products?
Yes. Redesigns, moving upmarket, relaunching a declining reference or extending a range are among the most frequent assignments.
How does the collaboration work?
A single point of contact, a written framing, clear arbitration points and a decision log. That is what limits round trips and misunderstandings.
What deliverable formats?
High-resolution renders, animation, packshots, trend boards, range matrices, definition drawings, assembly diagrams and 3D files, according to your engineering team’s needs.
